faux lace repair

grunge lace repair

I wear mens’ undershirt tank tops (wifebeaters) on a daily basis. At something like $12 for a pack of four, I just can’t argue with them. The one pictured above wasn’t sewn right along the neckline and it tore the first time I wore it, so I repaired it with a grungy lace fabric I designed.

I cut the fabric along the line in the middle of the lace, then closely followed the scallops on the edge. Then I sewed it to the messed up tank top edge with my serger. Super easy repair. The pattern is printed on an organic cotton jersey, so it stretches with the rest of the tank top.
