comic prints

1 Feb

I just ordered a bunch of swatches for new fabric from Spoonflower. Among the patterns I’m proofing is a vintage comic book inspired collection I’m calling ‘Heroes and Villains’ (pictured above).

You can’t tell from the included picture, but the fills on all of the bubbles, stars, etc. have a halftone effect applied to them. Additionally, the speech bubbles and stars have had their fills shifted by a few pixels to mimic printing inconsistencies.

The geek in me is really looking forward to getting the proofs of these ones and getting some fabric printed. Though I might be a bit biased, I think they’d make excellent fabric to use for kids’ stuff and for lining bags and clothes for adults.

The prints are: Comic Speech Bubbles (Villain colorway), Comical Sounds (Hero Colorway), Comic Stars (Villain colorway)
